Through the efforts of our volunteers, we not only deliver nutritious meals to our clients, but we also can make a difference in their lives. We chat and laugh with them; we know when they are feeling off colour or their condition has changed. We share in their joy about their family and sometimes just listen as they tell us about a sad event in their life.
We can only deliver "More than Just a Meal" through the generosity of our volunteers who come back day after day, week after week and often year after year.
We welcome people of all ages and walks of life and are always eager to have new people join our team. As a volunteer you choose how often you provide assistance, whether it's daily, weekly, fortnightly or monthly... any assistance is greatly appreciated. Volunteering is a great way to make new friends.
Our volunteers value and respect our clients for their previous contribution to our community and are dedicated to providing a quality, consistent and friendly service.
At Capalaba District Meals on Wheels, we require between 18 and 20 volunteers each day Monday to Friday just to get the meals out to our wonderful clients.
